Hopefully I'll be able to do the next event and use my new super shiny silver helmet that IS SNELL approved! My dad had to order me a new one cuz the one I got for my birthday wasn't SNELL approved. I like the new one better

Mine was about $130 and was snell and dot approved. What price range you looking at? Snell approved helmets cost more cause they are actually tested and meet required safety regs. Dott just claims to meet regs based off of design of similar helmets that do meet regs.

I looked on the cheaper side, and found 3 snell helmets under $70. My dad just picked one and bought it. I believe it was around $62...? Maybe lol. I'll ask him what website it came from. I don't remember which 3 websites I found that carried them!

But yeah, you don't need to spend that much money for a snell-approved helmet

For newcomers:
In order to use your own helmet (when racing autox), your helmet must be both DOT and SNELL approved. I'm not entirely sure on the year, but mine is 2005.

Anyone coming to this? My little 3 is gonna be taking a break from autox for a few months. So guess what I'll be driving??

Josh's s14! WOOT! And yes, I drove his manual Civic on a frontage road last weekend, and did pretty well! I was scared, but I did fine. I can't wait to drive his car on the track!
